When we talk about Steve McCurry in Venice, what are we talking about?

tags 分類: , , , 20 Nov 2015

Steve McCurry made his name in the 80s with the iconic Afghan Girl. One of the most recognisable photos in 20th century, Afghan Girl as a photographic portrait has achieved a memorable status equivalent to Vermeer’s Girl with Pearl Earring within the portrait genre.  From September 23-November 8, Steve McCurry is collaborating with Lavazza, the Italian coffee company, to show 62 …

From a tech log to a blog

tags 分類: , , , 19 Nov 2015

If you have visited The Infinite Nothing, you would probably notice that the whole exhibition space is composed by a number of audio/visual equipment. One of the daily duties of us as an exhibition attendant is to communicate with the technical supporting team in Hong Kong whenever there is a problem with the AV system, and try to fix it with their help and instructions. Afterwards, we would also need to write a tech log to record all the details and process.

Slip of the Tongue-窺探人們私密內心

Ciao! Venice! Que Sera Sera!:)

Food Map in Venice

As a popular tourist destination, Venice has a very high cost of living. If you have to save money, it is better not go to restaurants but instead, head for takeaways. Here comes a few of my favourite places …

Erin’s guide to becoming a Venetian

What do Hong Kongers usually associate Venice with? After living and working in Venice for 6 weeks, I became ever more curious about this question. My eyes and ears also became more sensitive to the word ‘Venice’.  A water village? On the way home from Hong Kong airport, I heard the bus broadcasting that Tai O, a small fishing village in Hong Kong, is widely hailed as …

Wade into The Water

[Hear]The Infinite nothing

Venice is famous for its beautiful scene along the great canal for sure. In the city, you can find many small canals and bridges connecting all the islands. If you ask Venetians whether they like living over the water or not, the answer must be a mixture of love and hate. To understand the reason, …

A visit to the ancient Greece and Rome

I can say Fondazione Prada is one of my favourite places to visit in Venice. Located in Ca’ Corner della Regina, formerly a palace of the Corner’s family, Fondazione Prada has used the place as its headquarter since 2011. I spent an afternoon there when I had my day off on Monday. Although the entrance …

15 things that I learnt living in Venice

  1. I walk really fast. 2. Hong Kong people are very efficient! 3. When an Italian says, “OKAY, OKAY! No Problem.” It means, “I don’t really understand you but I will work it out in my own way.” 4. Body language is universal around the world but Google translate is still a must.  5. …
