If you have visited The Infinite Nothing, you would probably notice that the whole exhibition space is composed by a number of audio/visual equipment. One of the daily duties of us as an exhibition attendant is to communicate with the technical supporting team in Hong Kong whenever there is a problem with the AV system, and try to fix it with their help and instructions. Afterwards, we would also need to write a tech log to record all the details and process.

精神分析學派創始人弗洛伊德（Sigmund Freud）曾在其1901年的著作《日常生活之精神病學》中說過, 潛意識是自己意識上不能知道的東西，只能透過一些行為上的失誤旁側敲擊來獲得，這也是人們說的「弗洛伊德式錯誤」（Freudian slip）…「Slip of the Tongue」 就是由50多個勇於「出賣」自己的人，一起聯手展出他們的齷齪慾望、零碎記憶和壓抑情感。他們的作品就如潛意識般，沒有邏輯地隨意置放在博物館的每一個角落。

剛到威尼斯時是處於一種混沌驚嘆的狀態：我身處的就是模糊記憶書本上的歐洲，義大利，威尼斯！？現在我就活活的身處在記憶模糊，概念缺乏的歐洲！？腦海就如盤古初開時，一片灰朦朦的，什麼實體都還沒有形成。如此迷濛的新環境，語言變了，時間變了，習慣變了，文化變了……一切都讓人覺得很新鮮，但一時的衝擊令我像患上失語症一樣。

出發前，在香港就已經聽了數百遍家人和朋友「小心財物」的勸告。還記得我在初到威尼斯的一星期，我在街上總不忘把背包掛在身前、攬緊袋口。每次上班和下班途中經過聖馬可廣場和嘆息橋等遊客景點，腦海都會浮現「騙徒手法層出不窮」的廣告口號，然後幻想每個在我身旁擦過的人都是小偷，回想起來，實在有點反應過敏。不過，當展覽門外的標題「The Infinite Nothing」都可以被偷去的時候，你永遠無法知道自己是否就是下個被盯中的「水魚」…

在雙年展期間，有接近二百多個展覽在威尼斯舉行，每個都有著截然不同的主題、媒介和形式，但大部分展覽都有著一個共通點——樓梯。雙年展主場區Arsenale和Giardini以外的國家館及周邊展覽散落於整個威尼斯的大街小巷，有些展館更是由民居改裝而成，於是就造成了「看展覽，先爬梯」的觀眾活動。你永遠無法預知樓梯另一端的展覽屬好屬壞，於是當你走了許多個展覽後，就得發現，原來自己枉走了很多條樓梯，而在你已經走得很疲累但仍不想錯過好展覽的時候，你總會很快再遇上一條比之前走過的還要長的樓梯……

來了威尼斯差不多一星期了，未算「無啖好食」，但每天也總離不開三文治、薄餅和意大利粉。於是我在假日的早上，長途拔涉地去了在威尼斯本島西邊盡頭的St. Marta，那邊有個只在星期一營業的Farm Market，在乘著船前往的路途上，看見每個人都拖著架購物車，我就知道沒有去錯地方了！

忙碌了一整個星期，好不容易等到星期一的假期。今次我來到受著多位策展朋友讚許的展覽── Museo Fortuny 的「Proportio」。「比例」，我們從小就有親身體驗，由個人的專容是否對枰至身型比例是否平均，皆會被自己和別人評一評。雖然每人的尺都不同，而最為耳熟能詳的「黃金比例」卻是一個標準，但這展覽豈會如此淺論呢！

每天走過這廣場，早晨、傍晚、深夜。11小時工作過後，等待夜晚9時的鐘聲，清洗過後，輕鬆就回來。 [聖馬可廣場是威尼斯的地勢最低點，因此在漲潮時和下大雨時，它是威尼斯首先被水淹的地方。下大雨時，雨水從廣場的排水溝直接流入威尼斯大運河。這是下雨時的理想排水渠道，但是在漲潮時卻帶來了麻煩。每天亞得里亞海潮漲時分，威尼斯大運河的河水同樣通過排水溝從聖馬可廣場的地下湧出，形成一潭潭的積水，每年還會出現幾次潮水鋪滿廣場甚至水淹廣場的情景。] —《維基百科》

在這裡是一個修行，聽似不一樣，但其實是不斷循環。上午9時樓上少女（希望是少女）開始練習小提琴至不知何時停下、下午6時手風琴的賣藝者準時在門外演奏8時離開、參觀者上午10時至下午6時踏過Arsenale的鐵板進出，小孩還會大力地多踏幾轉、作品詭秘的聲音卻不時靜化一切的心煩。 每天在循環，即使星期一休息日，也在循環。

有一天晚上我飽嚐一頓甜品晚餐後，回家後心中猶生莫大的罪惡感，一直都沒有睡意，於是在入黑後想去看看威尼斯的星星。我一直漫無目的地走，只想走到河畔看星星，隨著直覺向水的方向直走，發現威尼斯的大街及河畔是不夜天，河的兩邊華美熱鬧的餐廳延綿不絕。不經不覺走到利雅德橋(Rialto)不禁想起莎士比亞著名喜劇 –《威尼斯商人》…

這首歌出自電影 Nine(2009)，自從看過這齣電影後這首歌就一直在我的腦海盤旋，當到威尼斯實習的日子一日一日逼近這首歌更是完全佔據我的腦袋。
其實未出發前除了興奮，已經有離愁，這種離愁不是因為要離開香港，而是因為心知肚明只能夠離開香港一年── 先代表香港在威尼斯雙年展實習六星期，然後到英國聞名於博物館研究的利斯特大學修讀藝術博物館及藝術館研究碩士課程。
